Srinagar, May 21(KNS): People’s Democratic Front (PDF) president and former minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Thursday paid tributes to Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Farooq and Abdul Ghani Lone on their martyrdom anniversary, describing them as symbols of peace, justice and moral courage.
In a statement, Yaseen said Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq was a prominent spiritual and political leader whose guidance helped people during difficult times in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Today we remember him not for the tragedy that ended his life but for the legacy of dignity, unity and vision he left behind,” he said.
He also expressed solidarity with the family of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and appreciated his efforts in carrying forward his father’s mission through social and spiritual guidance.
Paying homage to Abdul Ghani Lone, Yaseen described him as a leader committed to justice and the rights of the people.
“He became one of the strongest voices for inclusion and justice in Jammu and Kashmir. His commitment to public causes continues to inspire people,” he said.
Yaseen also urged people to honour the sacrifices of the two leaders by working towards a peaceful, just and inclusive society.(KNS).
