Calls for joint efforts to restore peace, tranquility

Budgam, Jun 15 (KNS): Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen has called for collective efforts to end ongoing bloodshed and mayhem in the state. He said civil society groups, political parties and social organizations need to rise above their respective affiliations and ideologies to form a common platform so that ways and means could be devised collectively for ending the ongoing vicious cycle of bloodbath and destruction in the state.

Speaking to a public gathering at Khansahib, Budgam on Friday Hakeem Yaseen, while expressing his sorrow over the loss of precious human lives including those of civilians, police and CRPF personnel in Anantnag attack yesterday, said that killings and violence in any of its manifestations was the overall murder of humanity.

“After all it was a human being that gets lost by a bullet weather it comes from this side or that way,” Hakeem Yaseen remarked while urging for an early end to the ongoing naked dance of death and destruction in the state. He said enough blood has flown down the river Jhelum during last about seven decades without any tangible result adding that all the stake holders of the Kashmir issue must join their heads to develop an environment of dialogue and reconciliation for stopping further bloodshed in the restive state as also for seeking an amicable settlement of all outstanding issues between the neighboring countries of India and Pakistan.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He said policy of confrontation and bullet for bullet has no place in a civilized world adding that India and Pakistan, who are two brothers of a single family, should eschew animosity and give peace a chance in the larger interests of their people. He said people across the borders have suffered immensely due to continued strained relationship between the two neighboring countries which should end now without further delay.

Hakeem Yaseen said that people of state are yearning for peace and want an end to prevailing violence and mayhem.

Hakeem Yaseen expressed his anguish over the false propaganda being made by fringes elements and some myopic media channels for character assassination of Kashmiris adding that there was no threat to ensuing Amarnath Yatra as being alleged. He said communal harmony, brotherhood and hospitality is the ethos of Kashmiri people which was dearer to them than their lives. He reiterated that Amarnath yatries are safe in the hands of Kashmiri people. He said Amarnath Yatri are our guests and shall receive the same welcome with traditional communal harmony and brotherhood as was accorded to Hindu pilgrims on the eve of recently concluded Mela Kheerbhawani.
