Hakeem Yaseen eulogizes LG's covid control strategy, seeks focused attention for Covid management in rural areas

Srinagar May 15 (KNS): Chairman People's Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Yaseen had appreciated measures taken by the Lieutenant Governor ( LG) Manoj Sinha for containing the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic in Jammu and Kashmir . 

However, he has sought focused attention towards controlling the spread of the Coronavirus in rural areas also.

In a letter addressed to LG Manoj Sinha, Hakeem Yaseen while eulogizing measures taken by LG Manoj Sinha to contain the spread of Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir has said that the "Government, at this crucial time, especially when there is a shortage of vaccines, must arrange the same and give instructions to the administration that vaccines are made available and given to the masses at all designated places".
In his letter, Hakeem  Yaseen has said that the LG  administration has taken a good initiative by sending teams to districts to monitor the situation adding that the need of the hour was to visit rural areas because the people living in these areas are still not fully aware of the deadly virus and there were no appropriate health care facilities available to the people.

"Much more attention is required to been given towards rural populace by opening designated covid centres in rural areas otherwise it will not be possible to contain the virus fully, " Hakeem Yaseen has observed.PDF Chairman has urged LG to direct his administration to send teams to rural areas to create more awareness among rural populace about the devastating effects of the viral infection and to conduct vigorous and sustained vaccination drives to stop deaths due to covid infections, which has witnessed an alarming spike in the recent times.
   
Hakeem Yaseen has hailed the decision of LG to provide financial support to Shikarawalas and ponnywalas associated with the tourism industry and had sought special financial incentives for ASHA workers and employees working on Hospital Development Fund (HDF) and NHM workers also who are working on meager wages in various health centres. He said  these workers are working shoulder  to shoulder with permanent medical staff , leaving no stone unturned in containing the virus.
"LG's decision to provide relief to shikarawalas, ponywalas isf ans welcome step but   at the same time thousands of casual Laboureres working in different departments also deserve to get their wages as the lockdown has badly hit all sectors " . reads the letter .
Hakeem Yaseen has also sought LG's intervention for construction of Covid Hospital in Rishipora Budgam by the DRDO.
He said that the vast chunk of state land available at Rishipora Budgam was centrally located and best suited for construction of Covid hospital by DRDO. (KNS)
