Jammu, Jan 25 (KNS): Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has asked the Governor administration to arrange free air sorties for the passengers who are stranded at Jammu and Srinagar due to closure of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway continuously from last several days. He said hundreds of stranded passengers are lying at Jammu bus stand without food and shelter as they have been left total penniless due continued closure of National Highway.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hakeem Yaseen while expressing concern over the dilapidated condition of the National Highway, has urged the Governor administration to provide free ration and accommodation to the stranded passengers till they are airlifted to their respective destinations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe has urged the Government to expedite work on four-laning of National way especially from Banihal to Ramban stretch which often remains closed due to landslides and shooting stones.
Hakeem Yaseen has also urged the need for construction of proposed tunnels on Mughal road and Daksum-Kishtwar road on priority so that all weather alternate Highways could be provided to the passengers. He has also demanded opening of the under construction Qazigund-Banihal tunnel which is stated to be almost complete and needs some more funds for its commissioning. (KNS)
