Khansahib, Apr 28 (KNS): Cautioning against the latest report of the US Commission for International Religious Freedom ( UNCIRF ) that conditions for religious minorities, in India have been fast deteriorating due to multifaceted campaigns by Hindu-nationalist groups like RSS and VHP to alienate non-Hindus, Chairman PDF and MLA, Khansahib Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has called upon all secular minded and peace loving social, political and religious organisations of the country to unitedly fight this dangerous scourge before it was too late to control it.
He said the Commission has observed that Hindu extremists were trying to curb the religious freedom of non-Hindus Hindus and safronise the country through violence, intimidation and harassment of non-Hindus.
Addressing a public gathering at Kaachwari Hillnar in Khansahib constituency, Hakeem Yaseen said that the forced attempts to safronise the country was fought with dangerous repercussions to vitiate age old communal harmony of the country and to disintegrate it.
He said forced safronisation of the country has confronted all the minorities to biggest ever challenges ranging from acts of violence, intimidation, loss of political space and disenchantment , which all the secular forces have to fight Untidily.

He has also denounced deliberate attempts to communalize the tragic and shameful rape and murder case of an 8 years old poor nomadic girl, Asifa in Rasana village of district Udhampur adding that it was most regretting and unfortunate that even a team of the Bar Council of India was influenced by Hindu extremists to play a partisan role and give a clean chit to those Lawyers of the Kathua Bar Association who have brazenly obstructed filing of charge sheet in the court by the Crime Branch against the identified criminals.
He said any et tempted for selective application of the process of law will only increase alienation among the minorities in the state besides feeding a feeling of mistrust against judiciary.
Hakeem Yaseen, accompanied by a team of the senior officers of the district administration and concerned engineers also conducted on the spot inspection of various ongoing development works in the area.
He directed the concerned officers and engineers to expedite the pace of work so that development projects are completed in stipulated time frame and people could take benefit at the earliest.
He asked the engineers to ensure that standard quality material used in works adding that people should also help to monitor works in their respective areas. (KNS)
