Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNS): Demanding the restoration of Tulibal dumping site, senior congress leader and MLA Sopore Haj Ab Rashid Saturday asked district administration Baramulla to undertake a demarcation of the sopore town from Tulibal side. He rejected the Administration’s proposal of using the Adhipora area for dumping the waste.
While reviewing the traffic management and dumping issues in a meeting of officers on Saturday, Haji made it clear that ‘politics’ won’t be allowed to put obstacles in keeping the apple town clean and said the constituency area from Tulibal side needs to be demarked so that the issue of the dumping site is settled once for all. He advised SDM Sopore to undertake the demarcation process at the earliest.
Haji said that there was no need to dump the waste material in Adipora as Tulibal site was being used for the same for a long time and it has been ascertained whether any area of the site belonged to his constituency or not before taking a decision on the shifting of the site.
He exhorted upon the officers to work for the development and prioress of the town and warned of serious consequences in case of any laxity on their part.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHaji said that the glory of the town has to be restored and he would not tolerate any kind of politics to come in its way.
Haji later undertook a detailed tour of the constituency along with SDM, SP, EO Municipality and other officers of various departments to have a firsthand assessment of the situation with regard to traffic management and cleanliness of the town.
He advised officers not to allow heavy vehicles and trucks in the town from 9 am to 5 pm.
He also released 13 lakh rupees from the constituency development fund for the repairmen of the street lights whereas he also informed the officers that at least 100 streets lights fitted with LED bulbs have already been bought and could be installed in various areas including Sheer colony in the coming days. The MLA said that he would undertake a tour along with officers to Tulibal site on Tuesday. (KNS)
