Srinagar, May 2 (KNS): A Kashmiri Pandit, Kapil Mattoo who has ventured in movie production is directing a short film, Haaput at famous tourist destination Pahalgam.
Kapil is a filmmaker from Mumbai. He has been a renowned producer on many projects and an Associate Director to maverick filmmaker, Sudhir Mishra on the Kashmiri series, Tanaav (playing on SonyLiv). Kapil is a Kashmiri Pandit who resides in Mumbai and is now venturing into direction with the short film, Haaput.
This short film is a dystopian satire based in Kashmir in the Kashmiri language, a concept that has never been done before in the context of Kashmir. He is currently filming this short film written by Kapil Mattoo titled, Haaput in Pahalgam, collaborating with a team of local Kashmiri cast and crew.
The movie is being filmed at an authentic local house in Bradhaji village (Laripora-Pahalgam). The lady of the local house inaugurated the process by blessing the mahurat shot of the film.
The film is produced by Mattoo Mania Productions. The other Mumbai team consists of his Cinematographer Arup Mondal , Sabrina Khan (Co- Writer/Associate Director), Manoj Jadhav (Executive Producer), Associate Producer : Dr. Suneem Khan, along with its Kashmir unit helmed by S.A. Wahid (line Producer), Saqib Gulzar (Line Producer/Casting Director).
The background music shall be scored by Music Director Shamir Tandon in collaboration with Kashmir Santoor Player Abhay Sopori ( Son of Legendary Mastero Bhajan Sopori) with Cast: Hanaan Bawra, Furkaan Baba, Muneeb Ahmad, Bashir Lone, SA Wahid.
Kapil has a vision of telling entertaining and engaging Kashmiri stories that bring forth the essence of Kashmir and the characteristics of its people and to present the Kashmiri stories and the Kashmiri talent on the World Stage through Cinema. (KNS)
