Gurez MLA Seeks Winter Allowance, Cable Car Project In Pre-Budget Meet With J-K CM

 SRINAGAR, JAN 24 (KNS) ; The Lagislator from the frontier Gurez valley, Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi, on Saturday demanded a special winter allowance for government employees and a cable car project to boost tourism during pre-budget consultations chaired by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here.

 
Raising the issues faced by the remote valley near the Line of Control (LoC), Gurezi said the area remains cut off for months during harsh winter and requires urgent fiscal attention.
 
"Employees posted in these difficult areas face extreme hardships. We have demanded a special winter compensation package for them," Gurezi told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) after the meeting.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
He also pushed for a cable car system to improve connectivity and tourism potential in the sector, adding that he raised the matter directly with the chief minister.
 
MLA Gurez described the two-day consultations with MLAs from north and south Kashmir as "fruitful" and said they were aimed at making the budget people-centric.
 
Meanwhile as per KNS Correspondent other legislators also placed constituency-specific demands during the consultations. (KNS)
