Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNS): Four more bodies of army soldiers have been recovered on Friday from north Kashmir’s Gurez sector adding the death toll to 14.
An avalanche struck an army camp in Gurez Sector of J&K on 25 Jan, in which 10 Army officers of 51 RR died and four were missing in Tulail area of Bandipora.
According to Army spokesman, in Bandipora an Army camp of 51 RR located at Manzgund Neeru in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tulail came under snow avalanche, resulting in death of 14 Army soldiers.
He said, “Rescue operations were immediately launched in extreme bad weather and heavy snow fall.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel10 bodies were recovered yesterday while rest four on today morning”.
In other snowstorm incident one more dies in avalanche on Thursday in Lachipora, Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police official said.
Fateh Mohammad Mughal, 60, was buried alive in snow after avalanches hit him. Station House Officer (SHO) Bijhama Aijaz Ahmad told, KNS correspondent Nadeem Khawaja that, the body has been recovered and handed over to the family. (KNS)
