Sopore, Aug 31 (KNS): A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces at Bomai area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday evening.
Reports reaching the news agency - Kashmir News Service (KNS) said, that the gunfight was triggered after a joint team of the police, CRPF and Army cordoned off the Bomai area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of militants.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where militants were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire, it added.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police on its official Twitter handle informed that encounter has started at Bomai area of Sopore.
It added that, Police and security forces are on the job, while further details will be shared accordingly.(KNS)
