Srinagar, July 18 (KNS): A gunfight broke out between militants and the security forces in Check Sadiq area of South Kashmir's Shopian district, officials said.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the gunfight broke out in Check Sadiq Khan area of Shopian today.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police on its official Twitter handle said:

"#Encounter has started at Check Sadiq Khan area of #Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice". (KNS)
