Srinagar, July 26 (KNS): A gunfight broke out between militants and the security forces in Aharbal area of South kashmir's kulgam district, officials said on Monday. 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the gunfight broke out in Aharbal area following security forces launched cordon and search operation in the area. He said that the exchange of gunfire is going on both sides. 

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police on its official Twitter handle said:" Encounter has started at Aharbal area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.(KNS).
