Kupwara, Feb 13 (KNS): Two army men and four militants were Saturday killed in an encounter erupted between forces and militants at Marsari area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday afternoon.
Officials had said that the militants were holed up in a residential house of Ghulam Muhammad Wani, son of Ablee Wani of Marsari, Chowkibal. In a fierce gun battle, the militants were killed after 18-hour long battle between forces and militants.
Brigadier SP Singh while talking to KNS said that they suspect at least four militants are dead while the identity of the militants are yet to be ascertained.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that two army men lost their lives in fierce gun fight while two more received injuries.
“Army personnel from 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), 16 Garhwal and the police's special operation group were part of the ongoing operation,” he said, adding that no civilian received injuries during the gunfight.
