Advised people don’t rush to hospitals unnecessary
Srinagar, Mar 11 (KNS): Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor Junaid Matoo on Wednesday said amid the Corona Virus threat across J&K, it is the responsibility of my office to guide people at every step as it is the matter life and death.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), SMC Mayor while addressing a presser said Divisional Commissioner didn’t organize any press conference and it was you (media persons) who communicated my tweet to him.
According to KNS, he said it was a matter of life and death and my office is duty bound to guide people as Corona Virus threat is looming across Jammu and Kashmir.
Matoo said, after ten years urban local body was constituted and I myself being a head of the institution, is responsible to aware people regarding health issues.
Criticizing media persons, Matoto said, “Had you communicated my office for further reply, I would have clarified the matter but you directly drove to Div Com office which stoked controversy and confused people”.
He also said, “Yesterday I shocked to see videos of several hospitals where hundreds of people were coughing at same place.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelPeople were accumulated there which should be a great concern for government”.
He said wherever there is an apprehension of Corona Virus, being a responsible citizen we should take extra care.
He appealed government don’t let people accumulated at one spot.
He further added, if cinema halls have been shut in Jammu, why we are shying to stop morning assemblies in educational institutions where hundreds of students gathered at same place.
“If schools remained shut for months in past, what happen if it will be closed for weeks now”, Mayor said.
When asked about courts Matoo said “We will request Honb’le Chief Justice to allow limited number of people into courts”.
SMC Mayor advised people don’t rush to hospitals unnecessary. “Refrain from visiting hospitals, if there are severe symptoms then visit otherwise to remain away from the exercise which will lessen the mess in the hospitals”, he said. (KNS).
