GSPFP organises marathon on drug menace, corruption

Srinagar, May 30 (KNS): J&K GSPFP on Monday organised a marathon to highlight the menace of drug addiction among youth and rampant corruption in the society. 

 
According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the event was organised by Firdous Baba, chief of J&K chapter of J&K Global Strategic Policy Pune, wherein RTO Kashmir Sajid Naqash was the chief guest.
 
The event was organised to make Kashmir a drug free and corruption society.
 
Speakers who spoke on the occasion included Farooq Reshi advocate and president of Peace and Harmony Kashmir Chapter, Iqbal Wani, social activist, RTO Kashmir Sajid Naqash and others. 
 
Every speaker vehemently stressed the need to increase the number drug de-addiction centres so that more and more youth who have ruined their lives due to drugs can be treated. 
 
They urged parents of the youth involved in the menace to come forward and help government to eradicate drug abuse.
 
Addressing sizeable audience comprising of youth and children from different parts of the valley urged goverment to take more stringent measures against the rampant corruption. 
 
“No doubt UT administration has been cracking down on the corrupt officials and employees which has instilled fear among the corrupt. But ACB should form fast track courts like NIA to punish the accused on fast track basis." Said Iqbal Wani.
