Srinagar, Oct 23 (KNS): CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami Sunday castigated state government for taking what he said “inhuman and undemocratic” measures to suppress the voices of government employees.
Speaking on inaugural function of Conference Northern Zone Insurance Employees Associations in Jammu, he said that the slogan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikaashave proved a failure.
He said that the unemployment is growing and the promises of providing employment to 2 crores youth each year has again proved to be a false promise while as the economy is in bad shape and the corporate sector is getting benefitted and they are being provided the concessions.
“In the name of vikas, the corporate, both Indian and foreign are being allowed relief and concession at the cost of common man,” he said.
Tarigami added that this government is completely insensitive to the sufferings of people who are undergoing state price rice which leaves to hunger and malnutrition.
“Democratic institutions are under direct attack and it is for the first time in the history of the country that the Supreme Court has to pass numerous rulings against the Modi Govt,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that Public Sector and insurance in particular is the main target of the Govt policy. “The trade Union rights and other democratic rights are openly under direct attack and it is in Kashmir where the legitimate concerns of the people are brutally suppressed without any minimum concern for rule of law.”
He said that termination of employees is one more addition in the long list of “arbitrary and undemocratic” acts of the Govt. “In fact, the record of the Modi Govt clearly demonstrated that the slogan of Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikaas has utterly proved a bad failure,” he said.
He said that what is required to be done is the broader platform of the working people to resist such a fact. “This is the duty of every single person to come forward and unitedly launch service for the sake of the interests of people at large,” MLA Kulgam added.
He said that this conference is being held in the background of growing challenges before the trade union movement. (KNS)
