Srinagar, Oct 07 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir government Wednesday said that ration is being supplied to the consumers as per the Census-2011from September this year.
According to KNS correspondent, Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali while replying to a question in the Legislative Council said that ration is being supplied to the consumers as per Census -2011 with effect from September-2015, on basis of lists prepared, verified and authenticated by respective Deputy Commissioners.
The Minister said to rectify loopholes in Census-2011, a comprehensive survey has been conducted through DCs for inclusion of left-out families across the State. “To ensure that no families are left out the department has issued instructions to all Deputy Commissioners to include left out families as per Census -2011, if any,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Minister said that presently opening of new sale outlets has been put on hold because of a proposal with the department for opening of more Ration Depots in uncovered areas of the State including hilly areas under New Initiative Policy. “As of now there is no proposal with the department for sanctioning of additional funds for purchase of additional quota of ration, to cope up with scarcity of food grains caused due to continuous rains, hailstorms etc in hilly areas,” he said.
