Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNS): A high level session of J&K Teachers Forum was convened under the Chair of President EJAC, Chairman J&K Teachers Forum Ab. Qayoom Wani. The session disc discussed the recent ban on private tuitioning of Govt. teachers. All the participants unanimously agreed that the students of far flung areas shall be adversely affected because in far flung areas, apart from cities and towns there is not adequate number of qualified youth in villages who could provide the standard education. Teachers Forum is not against the youth and their employment but they should establish standard coaching institution to benefit more students.
While addressing the session the EJAC President and Chairman Teachers Forum Ab. Qayoom Wani said with emphasis that if govt. is really serious about the issue, the govt. should before banning the tuitioning,, ensure the availability of subject teachers in all the schools and teachers should not be deployed for non academic duties like election duty, census, BLO MDM and construction and there should be blanket ban on these such duties. Then ban on tuitioning can be considered debarring teachers from last in lieu on the pretext of winter vacation is against justice as the vacation are only and only for students despite the fact that teachers are deployed for different trainings during vacation. So govt.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channelshould on the analogy of other employees grant earned leave benefits to teachers. The leaders of teachers Forum urged the govt. to lock the tuition centres completely during the school working hours so that the attendance of students in higher secondary and High Schools is ensured and the credibility of govt. schools remains intact.
While addressing the session the EJAC President and Chairman Teachers Forum Ab. Qayoom Wani said that Teachers Forum shall support all such steps aimed at betterment of students. The Forum supported the steps initiated by Education Minister on rationalization, amalgamation, accountability and transfer policy, but need transparency in their implementation at gross root level.
The EJAC President and Chairman Teachers Forum Ab. Qayoom Wani said that Govt. should reconsider and revisit the decision regarding the ban on private tuitioning as the students’ school be benefitted rather than harmed. Teachers have always been ready to take the standard of Education to its Zenith but the silence of govt. on the core and chronic issues of teachers have become a cause of frustration and these issues include release of pay, transfer of ReTs, regularization of all the Incharge Officer, Pay anomaly of Masters, Leave encashment, time bound promotion of ReTs, and regularization of ReTs.
