Jammu, Jan 21 (KNS): The Government today said that capacity of all receiving stations in Wachi constituency in Shopian district have been approved for increasing, with Rs 1 crore sanction for improvement in power distribution.
While replying to a written question by PDP MLA from Wachi Aijaz Mir, the minister for Power Development Department Dr Nirmal Singh said that construction of 6.3MVA receiving station at Trenz is sanctioned under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Scheme.
The minister said that the government will augment Chitrgam and Landoora receiving stations under Prime Minister’s Development Program (PMDP) from its existing capacity of 16.3 MVA to 20 MVA.
“Rs 1 crore has been released under Capex Budget for Wachi for improvement of LT/HT network.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelFurther 6.3 MVA transformer will be installed in Pinjoora receiving station which will cater Wachi also,” the minister said on improving transmission and distribution of electricity in the constituency.
In addition, the minister said that 20 distribution transformers have been installed in Wachi constituency which, however, are overloaded and need improvement.
Mir while applauding the government for sanctioning new receiving stations for his constituency said that being a hilly area Shopian district needs special focus for overall development and improvement of electricity supply. (KNS)
