Srinagar, Oct 14 (KNS): Expressing strong resentment over the prevailing political uncertainty, people's miseries, braid cutting, arrests, lockdown of educational institutions, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) said despite tall claims of the so-called administration, the people feel scared even in their homes.
In a statement issued to KNS, a DFP spokesperson said the people’s protest across valley against the attack on the chastity of women is timely and justified. He said the claims of government that it has control over the situation have fallen flat.
Strongly criticising the administration, the spokesperson said by caging the pro-freedom leadership, the government declared victory for itself but didn't succeed in creating a wedge between people and the resistance leadership. He said the administration pushed the state into further anarchy and uncertainty.
The spokesperson strongly condemned the continuous detention of party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah in Tihar jail and continuous detention and house arrest of leaders including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and dozens of others and said this all is done to suppress the voices of truth.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the state government is living in a fool's paradise if it thinks that by maligning the image of resistance leadership through media trial or other means, the people of Jammu Kashmir will be forced to accept the readymade solution. He said Kashmir dispute is a living reality which needs to be resolved through dialogue between all the stakeholders as violence is not solution to it. The people of Jammu Kashmir cannot be made to surrender for their rights nor can they be suppressed through military might.
Terming the cutting of braids while barging into homes as attack on the chastity, honour and dignity of women, the spokesperson said such situation is unacceptable to any nation. He said the authorities by failing to nab the culprits have exposed themselves that they are good for nothing.
Terming the government's assertion that braid cutting is a mass hysteria as direct attack on the honour of people of Kashmir, the spokesperson said it is done under a well planned conspiracy. (KNS)
