Govt orders placement of 156 Assistant Professors as Associate Professors

Srinagar, May 23 (KNS): The government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered placement of 156 Assistant Professors placed as Associate Professors in the higher education department.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that this is second placement in less than 4 months as on January 27 as many as 13 associate professors of engineering were placed as professors.

According to an order, issued today by Principal Secretary to the government, Rohit Kansal around 156 assistant professors were placed as associate professors.

“In terms of the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Education (Gazetted) College Service Recruitment Rules, of 2008 as amended and notified vide SRO 124 of 2014 dated 21-04-2014 and as recommended by the JKPSC (DPC) vide its above reference, Sanction is hereby accorded to the placement of the Assistant Professors (Selection Grade-I) indicated in Annexure 'A' to this order and working in AGP Rs.8000/- to Associate Professor with AGP Rs.9000/- under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) w.e.f. the dates as indicated against each,” reads the order.

It added that the placements shall be subject to outcome of writ petition(s) if any pending before any Court of Law.
