Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNS): Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference vice-president, Omar Abdullah on Wednesday termed the recent move of the government about land lease as unfortunate and said the government wants to settle outsiders on these assets.
Omar Abdullah, while speaking to media, said the move was unfortunate and its aim is to settle outsiders.
"If the government wants to bring outsiders here, we have no objection but the first right belongs to those who were already settled here," he added.
He also said they will repeal the Public Safety Act if their party comes to power in Jammu and Kashmir. "I have been saying this even during the parliamentary elections that we will abolish this law," he said.
He further said there is no worry in delaying the elections in J&K and that they will not beg before the centre to conduct elections here. (KNS)
