Jammu, Jan 07 (KNS): Castigating state government for its poor preparations for the winter season, especially the snowfall, Youth National Conference here has stated that whole state government has gone missing in snow bound areas after maiden snowfall of season in hilly areas of Jammu province.
In a statement issued to KNS, Youth NC Provincial President Jammu Ajaz Jan said that in all the snow bound areas of Jammu province (which include Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch district) government is missing on ground with all its claims of preparations for peak winter and snowfall falling it.
“Despite predictions of bad weather and snowfall, government failed to act timely and has now put people in problem”, Jan said.
Previous governments followed the practice of stocking ration in snow bound areas to tackle the situation but this government forgot the same and is now acting as a mute spectator, Jan said.
He also raised serious concerns on the grim situation of power supply and said that in whole or Chenab valley, power is snapped since yesterday while in most of the areas of Rajouri and Poonch district power supply is badly affected with areas like Darhal tehsil under complete blackout since two days.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Government has failed to mobilise it's men and machinery for restoration of power in affected areas which has put life of people living there in problem” Jan said.
Jan also said that no machinery has been placed in snow affected areas and many roads are lying close with snow and no effort has been made to restore traffic on these roads.
“The major problem is erupting when any person living in an area with closed roads getting ill and his family members have to reach nearby hospital by carrying the patient on beds and travelling snow for kilometers” he claimed saying that state government should shun it's carelessness and should come for immediate help of affected people.
