Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNS): Expressing serious concern over the lack of facilities to Leper patients residing in Leprosy Colony (Bagwanpora) Srinagar, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Secretary Irfan Naqib lashed out at State Govt failing to ensure basic facilities to Leper patients, who are facing difficulties due to non-availability of basic amenities required for living, especially in winter months.
While visiting Leprosy Coloney yesterday Naqib said that UPA Govt had sanctioned 65 quarters to Leper Patients out of which only 63 quarters stands allotted to them that too without proper arrangements required for living, besides there was no arrangement for proper housing of the patients
He said the patients also complained that they are living a miserable life in absence of adequate facilities and State Govt is least bothered about the wellbeing of Leper Patents.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey blamed the administration for failing to reach out to them for resolution of the problems confronting them especially during winter months and sought immediate end to their unending miseries. They said that they are the people, who are cut off from the society and they are unable to do anything themselves for their living.
Castigating State Govt for being ignorant towards the problems confronting Leper patients Naqib said that these people deserves full attention of the Govt, as they can’t do anything at their own, he urged upon the Govt to ensure all facilities to Leper patients required for living. He also demanded proper housing arrangements for them. (KNS)
