River Jhelum is lifeline of people of Kashmir

Jammu, Jan 24 (KNS): The government on Tuesday said it has taken steps for restoration of the embankments of River Jhelum.
While replying to a written question by MLA Anjum Fazili, the minister for PHE and Flood Control Sham Chowdhary said that government has taken steps to strengthen the bunds temporary and permanent restoration has been done.
“Cuts and breaches have been restored feeding is also being done”.
According to KNS correspondent covering the assembly proceedings, however, the minister was did not earlier reply to the question of the legislator.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelNo sooner did Fazili and other legislator rose from their benches to ask the minister to reply the question.
“The question is very vital. River Jhelum is lifeline of people of Kashmir. Due to flooding its banks got breached and submerged the city,” Fazili said.
After protests and insistence by the legislators, the minister replied to the question. (KNS)
