Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNS): J&K Government is making efforts to promote Kashmir to showcase the state as an attractive tourist destination.
The Kashmir Tourism Department has coming up with new attractive events for tourism and a new promotional campaign is in the pipeline that will be made keeping the national and international audience in mind. All kinds of initiatives to promote Kashmir as a tourist destination is being taken, an official told KNS.
Various associations related to tourism activities are also making efforts to promote Kashmir.

“The tourism department has already participated in various national and international events to promote Kashmir. We have also conducted various roads shows in other states,” said an official.
He added that the Chief Minister has been giving priority to tourism as livelihood of large number of local people is directly or indirectly dependent on it.
“Apart from the ongoing initiatives to set up eco tourism hubs in several places, the department is exploring the opportunities of developing leisure tourism in upcoming tourist destinations. Presently, the winter tourism is also receiving great response,” an official of tourism department told KNS. (KNS)
