Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNS): The process of government formation between PDP and BJP has gained momentum in New Delhi after the BJP said that it was “ready to walk an extra mile” in Jammu and Kashmir.
KNS has learnt that thorough deliberations are ongoing in New Delhi between the former alliance partners to re-stitch the coalition after Mehbooba flew for New Delhi on Tuesday forenoon.
Sources said that the PDP president will likely meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give final shape to the government formation in the state.
Jaitley’s statement on the floor of the Parliament was taken positively by the PDP and it re-kindled hopes of government formation in the state.
A senior PDP leader is holding consultations with the BJP leaders to end the stalemate and work out modalities as to how the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ could be firmly implemented in the state within a “timeframe” that the PDP has sought.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Some of the BJP and PDP leaders with whom KNS talked sounded positive over government formation after the latest developments, and they expected “a breakthrough soon”.
Governor’s rule was imposed in the state after Mehbooba, tipped as the next CM, refused to take oath following the death of her father and PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7.
The two parties since then have been trying to end the deadlock by working out modalities before re-stitching their alliance. (KNS)
