‘Feel satisfied as a movement to clean education system has taken root in J&K’

Stating that the government was firm on its decision to scrutinize certificates of ReT teachers who obtained such documents through distance mode and also conduct screening test of those about whose certificates there is any doubt, education minister Nayeen Akhter Friday said that he has started a “cleaning process” in the education department about which he feels very satisfied.
“I am satisfied to see it (scrutinizing ReTs certificates and testing their capabilities) as a movement, which has taken root in J&K and it is about the cleaning of the education system from the muck created by previous regimes,” Akhter told KNS.
He said that there should be no confusion or controversy over the issue as the government was only following the court order which clearly says that certificates of all those ReT teachers be verified who have obtained such certificates through distance mode.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“And if verification raises doubts on any certificates, such teacher be put through test and if anyone fails in the test, the government should consider their termination,” he said, adding that education department should not be considered as an employment generating enterprise.
The education minister said that for the promotion of competitive culture among the students of government schools, the standards of education have to be improved. “And that is not possible if there are even one percent of teachers with fake certificates in the government schools,” he said.
