Khansahib, Jul 06 (KNS): Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF), Hakeem Yaseen has expressed his dismay over the slow pace of tourism development in Doodpathri and Tossamaidan tourist places. He said both the tourism development authorities at Doodpathri and Tassamaidan have miserably failed to exploit the full tourism potential due to non availability of adequate funds and technical manpower.

Speaking to a public gathering at Sitharan in Khansahib constituency on Saturday Hakeem Yaseen said that Doodpathri- Tossamaidan tourism belt has been the victim of government apathy and neglect despite the fact that the area posses vast and varied tourism potential which needs to be exploited optimally.

Hakeem Yaseen alleged that Doodpathri Gondola project could not take off during last 16 years despite the fact its DPR stands finalized in 2003.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said tall claims of tourism department about promotion and showcasing of Doodpathri and Tossamaidan as major tourism attractions have proved to be hollow and the local people were very disheartened with the governments lackadaisical approach.

Hakeem Yaseen said, though in Governors rule it was expected that neglected and discriminated areas would get their due but things have not changed on the ground level.

Commenting on Union Budget proposals, Hakeem Yaseen described it “Old wine in new bottles”. There was nothing for the development of tourism, horticulture, trade and industry in the budget,” Hakeem Yaseen remarked. He demanded a special package for development and promotion of these sectors of vital economic important. (KNS)
