Srinagar, April 27 (KNS) : In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Solar Association met senior officials of the Power Development Department, including Additional Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar (IAS) and Special Secretary Mohammad Younis Malik, at Civil Secretariat Jammu to discuss key challenges confronting the solar sector.
Led by its Chairperson the delegation apprised the officials of the difficulties faced by solar vendors across the Union Territory.
The members emphasized that unresolved issues could hamper sectoral growth and negatively affect consumers, especially from economically weaker backgrounds.
A comprehensive memorandum detailing genuine concerns and demands was submitted, urging the government to take immediate steps for policy clarity, transparency, and sectoral stability.

Responding to the concerns, the Financial Commissioner(Addl Chief Secretary)Ashwani Kumar IAS assured the delegation of full support, stating that all legitimate issues would be addressed on priority, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening the renewable energy sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
It is pertinent to mention here that the JK Solar Association is working for the benefit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and for promotion of Solar Energy in the UT besides looking after and raising the genuine concerns of all vendors engaged with the solar industry in the Union Territory. (KNS)
