Srinagar, Dec 12 (KNS): Expressing serious concern over the continuous house arrest of Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence, the Hurriyat spokesman has strongly condemned the continuous arrest of Hurriyat leaders in their homes, jails, police stations and other thousands of Kashmiri youth who are languishing in Kashmir and outside jails.
Hurriyat (M) spokesman said Mirwaiz was scheduled to attend a Seerat conference at the residence of senior resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani at Hyderpora. However, Mirwaiz because of his continuous house arrest could not leave his house. The spokesman further that police did not allow the Seerat conference to take place.
Terming the action of police and administration as extremely dictatorial and fascist, the spokesman said such an act amounts to the direct intervention of the state in religious matters of individuals.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe spokesman condemned the police action in strong terms and said that nobody has the right to stop Muslims from discharging their religious duties, adding, such actions are intolerable and anti-religion.
Meanwhile, senior Hurriyat leader, Musadiq Adil, visited Wadoora Sopore to condole with the family of Musaib Majeed who was killed by the government forces during the recent uprising.
Paying rich tributes to Musaib, Adil on behalf of Hurriyat Conference (M) assured the family that they would keep the “mission of martyrs” alive till freedom is achieved.
Describing the current political situation prevailing in Kashmir as critical, he said the wanton repression by the Indian state in Kashmir would not douse the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris. (KNS)
