Srinagar, Dec 10 (KNS): On the eve of Human rights day, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Thursday said that the government has miserably failed to constitute State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) in the state.
While talking to KNS over phone, Tarigami said that it is unfortunate the government has so far failed to follow the court orders. “The time given by the High Court to the state government for constituting the SHRC here is over but the government is yet to come up with the commission,” Targami said.
He said the absence of SHRC is giving birth to more and more human rights violation here but there is no such group in the state who can look into the issue.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The failure of the state government in formulating the SHRC has put the question mark on their tall claims as from last many last several years, Kashmiris are facing human rights violations and nothing has been done so far to curb these violations here,” he said.
While appealing to the government to formulate SHRC at the earliest, Tarigami said, “I believe that the presence of SHRC will decrease the human rights violations in the state rights." (KNS)
