Srinagar, July 26 (KNS): Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday gave his approval to form a seven-member committee of experts to look into possible non-lethal alternatives to pump-action guns, or pellet guns.
Reports said the expert panel – to be led by Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs TVSN Prasad – will submit its report in two months.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The use of pellet guns by forces is being condemned in the Valley following grave injuries to hundreds of civilians in the ongoing unrest.
Rajnath on his two-day visit to the Valley had also announced the setting up of the committee to review use of lethal pellet guns on protesters. (KNS)
