Glacier Times organise "Drug De Addiction" programme in Gund Ganderbal

Ganderbal 17 February (KNS): Glacier Times Newspaper on Saturday organised a simple but impressive awareness programme on Drug De Addiction at Boys Higher Secondary School Gund in Ganderbal district. 

District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal was chief guest on the occasion while The programme was attended by SDPO KANGAN Syed Yasir Qadri SDM Kangan Hakeem Tanveer ,SHO Gund Lateef Ali , SHO Kangan Aftab Ahmad Naib Tehsildar Gund, Mohammed Maqbool, DIO Ganderbal Riyaz Fazili  Principal BHSS Gund Minhaaj DDC and BDC chairpersons Dr Imroz Dr Mohd Rafiq Bahar team members of Human Rights and Anti Corruption Forum and large number of senior citizens and students while Imran Raina Anchored the whole programme.

On the occasion senior Journalist and Editor in Chief , Glacier Times Newspaper, Umar Raina and Executive Editor Glacier G N Raina informed that the main motto behind the programme was to sensitize people regarding prevalence of drugs in the society and harmful effects of it on the society and health. 

Ghulam Nabi Raina put forth his views and ideas with the addressees on problem of drug abuse. He told the audience that parents should keep the track of their children to keep them safe form the menace of drug abuse. 

Other panelists including Dr Imroz and Dr Mohd Rafiq Bahar and Farooq Ahmad Khatana also shared their views and experiences with the people present.

SHO Gund and Kangan gave brief description of Glacier Times and gave a brief introduction about the programme.

Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal while congratulating Glacier Times media group for organizing this important programme hoped that they will organise such programmes in future also. 

DC in his address told Students that taking intoxicants by any member of the family brings bad name to the family. Good students should pay attention to their studies only. If they fetch very good marks in exam, all the family members will be respected by all friends and relatives. Furthermore name of the school will shine further. Good students become officers and bad students who take intoxicants fall ill and physically weak. 

He told students that they should form groups with the aim to spread awareness among drunkards and general public against harmful effects of intoxication.(KNS)
