Uri, Sept 05 (KNS): Locals of Gingal Uri of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday expressed resentment against Border Roads Organization (BRO) who failed to repair roads in the area.

Talking to KNS, locals said that they are facing immense hardships while moving in the area as the condition of roads has worsened. They said the condition of Gingal to Choolan route is in shambles and authorities of BRO are paying deaf ear to the pleas of locals.

“The road comes under BRO and they are liable to maintain it so that people do not suffer but unfortunately the concerned agency has left it unattended and people into trouble”, a local told KNS.

He said people can’t walk on the stretch during hot and cold seasons. “During winters the road turns into stream while in summer it turns into dust ground which evoked multiple ailments in the area.

Locals, however, appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and concerned BRO officials to kindly look into the matter and maintain the road and make it walkable for local population. (KNS)
