Srinagar, Aug 26 (KNS): In a major blow to Congress particularly in J&K, former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday resigned from the primary membership of the Congress.

As per the resignation letter in posession of Kashmir News Service (KNS), Congress stalwart Ghulam Nabi Azad has resigned from all party posts including the primary membership. 

In the resignation letter which Azad has sent to the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he says Congress has lost will and ability under the tutelage of coterie that runs AICC.
 
The development comes days after  he resigned from the organizational post of Jammu and Kashmir citing health issues.

In his resignation letter, he has praised leadership of Sonia Gandhi and the freedom he gave to the ministers during UPA Government, however he says that with the appointment of Rahul Gandhi as Vice President of Party, " entire consultaive mechanism which existed earlier was demolished by him and all senior and experienced leaders were sidelined and new coterie of inexperienced sycophants started running the party." 
He also blames tearing up of Government ordinance by Rahul Gandhi infront of media childish and reason of loss of 2014 parliamentary elections. (KNS)
