Srinagar, May 07 (KNS): Former Cabinet Minister & Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday greeted the people on the sacred occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of Ramadan.

In a message issued to KNS, Mir said that the last Friday of Ramadan is observed with great fervour wherein people ask for forgiveness and mercy from Almighty Allah

“I take this opportunity to wish Jumat-ul-Vida Mubarak to all. May Almighty Allah bless us all in our endeavours and accept our fasts and prayers. And shower His choicest blessings on all of us on this auspicious day,” he prayed.

Furthermore, he urged the administration of Jammu & Kashmir to ensure that all basic amenities are made available to the people during the COVID pandemic crisis so that they have to face no inconvenience.

“The household requirements of people increase exponentially during the holy month. It is therefore imperative for the UT administration to ensure that enough basic supplies are maintained without any shortage," he urged.

He also said that only Almighty Allah can redeem us from the current crises and asked the people to observe fervent prayers in this regard on this occasion besides following the COVID-19 protocols in letter and spirit.

“We are going through a grave crisis, adapting a complacent behaviour can put the lives of the people we know and admire in grave danger. Therefore, I would request the people to strictly observe all the concerned advisories in regards with the Pandemic," he remarked.

He commended the efforts of all the religious scholars who have played a key role in breaking the chain of this virulent disease and have asked the people to take the required steps to impede the spread of humanity’s worst ever public health nightmare.

"People are ought to follow the advisories of scholars and Mufti sahibaan as well who time and again have cautioned the people to follow all the requisite SOP's without any delinquency," he said.

Moreover, he impressed upon the affluent class to come forward in these tough times for the rescue of the down-trodden and weaker sections of the society.

"I am sure that if all of us pitch in and join our efforts, we would easily sail out through the existing crises. I profoundly express my solidarity with those families who have lost their loved ones in the COVID-19 crises and pray for early recovery of all those who have tested positive for the contagion” Mir said.(KNS)
