Ghalib says pro-freedom camp failed to bring his father’s mortal remains

Ready to pay transport charges for shifting of mortal remains to Kashmir, says Tabasum Guru

Srinagar, Feb 09 (KNS): On the fourth death anniversary of his father, the young Ghalib Guru on Thursday said that pro-freedom camp has failed to ensure return of mortal remains of his father, Muhammad Afzal Guru, who was hanged on February 9, 2013 at New Delhi's Tihar jail.
Talking to KNS, Ghalib, the lone son of 2001 Parliament attack convict, Afzal Guru said, “The separatist leadership has failed to fulfill our expectations as they failed to play their role in bringing the mortal remains of my father back to the home.”
He said that the Government of India (GoI) must provide the mortal remains of his father back. “Despite the tall claims of India that they are the largest democratic country in the world, the claims at the same time proves hoax as they have failed to fulfill our demand of sending mortal remains of my father home,” Ghalib said, adding that the separatist leaders must play their role in bringing the whereabouts of his father back to home.
Meanwhile, Tabasum Guru, wife of Afzal Guru while demanding her husband’s mortal remains said, “Despite passing four years, India has failed to send the mortal remains of my husband back to the home.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
She said that the she is ready to pay even the transport charges of the mortal remains. “Me and my son, Ghalib want to read what my husband wrote in the Jail. We are desperate to read the things my husband has wrote. I want to ask the Indian authorities that if they have any conscience left then should send the mortal remains of my husband back to home at earliest,” Tabsum added.
Saying that it is shame on the part of the government that after passing four years, the Afzal’s whereabouts are yet to be handed over to his family, Tabasum said, “We don’t even know whether the whereabouts of Guru are lying in the possession of jail authorities or not.”
She further added that India knows better what they have done with them (family), but they must at least provide the mortal remains including the family photos, dairy, clothes and other things of her husband. (KNS)
