Bandipora, July 3(KNS): Well-known contractor Gh Nabi Tantray has strongly condemned the alleged assault on Congress MLA Nizam-ud-Din Bhat during a public grievance programme in Naidkhai, describing the incident as "unacceptable" and urging the administration to take stern action against those responsible.
"There are no words strong enough to condemn this unfortunate incident. Such acts are unacceptable in a democratic society," Tantray said.
He further stated that it was deeply disturbing that a senior political leader had allegedly been attacked while discharging his public duties.
"Nizam-ud-Din Bhat is a senior political leader who has served the people of Bandipora for more than two decades and was only performing his duty by reviewing developmental works and listening to public grievances," he said.

Tantray said the incident should be viewed beyond political affiliations. "This is above politics. I may have many differences with Mr. Nizam Sahib, but the way he has been attacked is inhuman. This should be dealt with very seriously by the administration," he added.
He appealed to the authorities to conduct a fair and impartial investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable, stressing that violence has no place in a democratic society.
The alleged attack on the Congress MLA during the public darbar has sparked widespread concern, with political leaders and members of civil society calling for accountability and restraint.(KNS).
