Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC Chinar Corps addressed the young and bright students of Jammu and Kashmir today as part of the workshop on “ Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)” at Department of Science and Technology(DST), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University,Katra. Lt Gen Saha spoke on “Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Reserarch (INSPIRE)” to the gathering of 625 students in the august gathering of Prof Sudhir Kumar Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVD University and the faculty of the university. Lt Gen Subrata Saha ,GoC-in-C, 15 Corps, Srinagar delivered a scintillating talk titled “ Technology as a driver for the future battle field” to the participants. Taking the young students through stages through which warfare has evolved, he gave a deep insight importance of advancements in defence equipments that have taken place in recent years. He spoke about the current and future developments that are likely to come through. Professor S.K Dogra, FNASc from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur delivered a lecture .ater an exhibition on plants and products was put on display by Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIM Jammu). Dr S.K Wanchoo, Director I/c SICD and PI informed that a battery of eminent scientists and National awardees shall be mentoring the Attendees in next five days.
This is the largest INSPIRE camp that has been organized so far. INSPIRE is an innovative program of DST for inspiring the talented youth for development of scientific temper. INSPIRE camp is to communicate to the young attendees the excitement of creative pursuits of science and attract talent to the study of science at an early stage and build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding science and technology system in Research and Development base.
