Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Shopian and expressed hope that the people of the state, keeping in view the precious sacrifices by our youth shall keep a close vigil on the ongoing movement so that it reaches its destination. The exemplary sacrifices given by our nation for its sacred mission of right to self-determination makes it mandatory for all of us to take this movement to its logical conclusion without making any compromise.
Hurriyat (G) chairman expressed his deep grief over civilian killings in Shopian and extended his condolences with bereaved family of slain civilian Shahid Manzoor Mir. He paid his tributes to the young soul and blamed stubborn attitude of Indian authorities for continuous bloodshed & said that since last several decades, people in state are facing war like situation. People are facing the extreme situations, said Geelani and added that people are braving the bullets, pelts and atrocities at the hands of arrogant forces.
India is pushing our youth to wall and compelling them to take extreme steps, Geelani said and hailing resilience and steadfastness of people in occupied state, added that Indian authorities rely on their military might to suppress people’s aspirations and muzzle voices.
Condemning the use of brute force against the civilians, Hurriyat chairman said that on the pretext of search and cordon operations common people are deliberately targeted and victimized by the men in uniform. People are killed, harassed, tortured and threatened of dire consequences under the garb of these operations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIn this grim situation the life of common people has became miserable and vulnerable at the hands of armed forces in every nook and corner of the state.
Appealing the United Nations Human Rights Commission to take cognizance of the gross violation of human rights at the hands of Indian occupation forces in jammu and Kashmir, the pro-freedom leader reiterated its demand that the civilized nations of the international community must rise to the occasion and the subjugated helpless people and pressurize India to put on end to these gross human rights violations, so that the small population is not left to the mercy of about a million military men.
He repeated his appeal to the world organizations particularly UN to make sure that the resolutions and commitments made by its member countries stand fulfilled with no further delay on, non-seriousness to do so has put a large population at the brink of a disaster.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his grief over the damage to the orchards, especially those where fruits were yet to be plucked, due to heavy snowfall in entire valley.
He said these natural calamities do occur despite all human attempts to avoid them. They are nothing but to caution the people on one hand and put their human and helping nature to test on the other hand, as such episodes call for urgent and timely help by the people who are not affected.
He further said that people should seek help from Almighty as He only can rescue them from such disasters. (KNS)
