Srinagar Dec 24 (KNS): At least 20 properties belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami, including a house of former Hurriyat Chairman late Syed Ali Shah Geelani at Barzulla, were seized by the authorities, officials said here on Friday.
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that properties were seized in different districts of the Kashmir following investigations into a case involving JeI by the State Investigation Agency (SIA).
He said the Barzulla house was seized by the SIA after district magistrate Srinagar had issued orders about sealing of three properties of JeI.
SIA has already identified around 188 JeI properties across Jammu and Kashmir which have either been notified or are under the process of being notified for further legal action under UAPA. (KNS)
