Geelani pays tributes to Basit Rasool

Condemns arrest of TeH district president

Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNS): Paying rich tributes to the Basit Rasool martyred today at Bijbihara, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Geelani said that our highly qualified youth who prefer to join the freedom struggle instead of their luxurious and comfortable life, is a slap on those who weigh these unparallel sacrifices in terms of roads, buildings, bridges and other developmental assets.
According to a statement issued to KNS, addressing large gathering participating in the funeral procession of the slain martyr, Geelani said that huge human sacrifices put a great onus on us as a nation, to safeguard them and not to trade them for petty and personal gains. He said that main culprits of our decades old miseries are the blood thirsty pro-Indian stooges who are all set to befool the innocents once again in the deceitful and deceptive slogan of peace and development. But last five months have torn and snatched every fabric of humanity and have exposed their beastly faces.
Pro-freedom leader said that if once again people get deceived by their hollow slogans, for their worldly comforts, will ruin their hereafter, will not only be disastrous for the people but these beasts will be encouraged to suck our blood in future as well.
Geelani said that our vote or support is strengthening and hardening their iron hands to punch us even harder and trade our blood and flesh for their own luxuries. He said that these agents of our destruction shamelessly crush not only our basic rights but our honour, chastity and dignity, as well and it is our collective responsibility to desist from any electoral processes whether panchayats, assemblies or parliamentary, as our participation credits their brutality and power and unless we get rid of these local faces of the mighty and forced oppression, we can’t do justice to our sacred mission.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that we should abstain from any covert or overt action which is aimed to malign the blood of our martyrs.
APHC assistant Gen secretary, Gh Nabi Sumji also addressed the gathering. He was accompanied by Fayaz Ahmad, Sabzar Ahmad, and Ashiq Hussain.
Meanwhile, strongly condemning the arrest of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president Mohamad Yousuf Falahi, Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said that “highly educated” class of mortgaged bureaucracy had already slapped PSA on him and he was shifted immediately to Kuthwa jail.
Geelani said that during these five months of uprising he made the police and administration to lick the dust and to nab him, residences of all his relatives and friends were raided. His brothers and nephews were arrested to pressurize him. Failing to subjugate him, cowardice police proclaimed him an offender and kept a bounty on his head, when these measures also backfired, police resorted to randomly ransacking his house, breaking everything coming in their way and thrashing the inmates as if they were gone insane.
Hurriyat (G) chairman said that to pressurize a political worker can only be termed as the act of vandalism and high handedness as he was doing everything within the contours of human and international commitments but India in the arrogance of power and might has been in the denial mode for the last 7 decades and has occupied our state only by force with the help of its puppets.
Geelani said that oppressors are habitual of selective behaviour and they only applause and let live their own yes-men and stooges and strangulate and crush everybody else particularly those who challenge their might and are not ready to become a sellable commodity, but pro-freedom people here and everywhere can never succumb to their nefarious designs.
