Srinagar, Oct 06 (KNS): Chairman Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Geelani has expressed grief over the death of Altaf Hussain Reshi of Mundji Sopore, who was suffering from lung cancer and died a few days back at SIKIMS Soura.
While offering condolences to the grieved family, Syed Ali Geelani said that this young man was associated with Tehrrek-e-Islami and was a staunch freedom loving. He took part in various social welfare activities and was instrumental in the fund raising for the Yateem foundation.
He said that the family had lost its head a few months back when his father Haji Ab Gaffar Reshi died in July 2016. They were yet to reconcile from that trauma and the fresh tragedy struck them yet again.
Syed Ali Geelani while remembering the days when Haji Gaffar Reshi was active member of Jamaat-e-Islami and Altaf Ahmad was a kid, said that the family always provided financial and strategic support to Jamaat in the days when effluent class was reluctant to side with them.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Expressing grief on the death of another youth, Junaid Yousuf S/o martyr Mohammad Yousuf Waza, Syed Ali Geelani said that this orphan was adopted by Ashraf-bin Salam and he gave him fatherly affection and support.
Commending Ashraf and his wife Abida, Geelani said that the tragic death of the beloved son, must have struck them very hard emotionally and psychologically.
Geelani while paying for both these departed souls said that may Allah Almighty bestow them with Jannah. Aameen!. (KNS)
