Geelani demands immediate release all political prisoners

'Condemns jailing of Nasir Abdullah'

Srinagar, Feb 18 (KNS): While strongly condemning the continuous imprisonment of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activist Nasir Abdullah Palhallan despite obtaining release orders from the court and detention of Abdul Hameed Parrya and Gh. Hassan Dar of Hajan Bandipora in police station from last 15 days, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani demanded immediate release of all the political prisoners.
He said that the government is subjecting the pro-freedom people particularly the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat to the political vengeance and they are not provided any political space. Nasir Abdullah Palhallan Pattan is under incarceration since last 25 months in Baramullah sub-jail.
He was fabricated into a false and baseless case by the police some two years ago and was slapped with murder like serious charges but the court termed these allegations as baseless and ordered his immediate release.
When the family members of the said person went to the Jail superintendent with the bail orders, they came to know that the police had slapped two fresh FIRs against the Abdullah and the jail authorities have been told not to release him.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile the police have detained Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activists Abdul Hameed Parray and Gh. Hassan Dar from Hajan Bandipora on 3 February and since then they are in the police lockup and they are not being released. There is no case registered against them and they are serving the unjust detention.
The local people in Hajan complained that a police officer in this area is making unprovoked arrests of the youths and then is charging hefty amounts from their families against their release. For this purpose the said police officer has formally appointed some middlemen who are used as a communication links between the parents of the arrested youths and the police.
Syed Ali Geelani have taken strong notice of this situation and said that this state is practically ruled by the police where the law and order have been completely put under suspension. (KNS)
