Strongly codenaming the killing of a father and his three-year old son in Sagipora Sopore of Baramulla district by unidentified gunman on Friday night, chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani called for a complete shutdown to be observed on Sunday against the ‘gruesome act’.
The veteran Hurriyat leader termed the killing of father-son as “inhuman and un- Islamic act” and asked people to identify the brutal killers.
Urging people not to stay calm on these grave inhuman acts, Geelani told KNS that these killers must be identified and exposed.
“Killing of an innocent is the killing of whole humanity. I condemn this killing and appeal people as well pro-freedom leadership to protest and identify these killers behind such gruesome and barbaric crimes,” Geelani told KNS.
Geelani appealed people to observe complete shutdown on Sunday (Sep 20) across state to protest these killings.
“Killing of a child is a matter of great concern for the whole nation and no religion on earth can allow the killing of child in a battlefield,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He also condemned the killing of a militant, whose bullet-ridden body was found in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district on Saturday morning.
He said that while the death of a Syrian boy Aylan Kurdi shook the whole world, similarly whole Kashmiri nation is mourning and raise questions on the killing of three-year old Burhan. “The killing of innocent Burhan has shaken us all and we demand killers of humanity must be brought to book,” he said.
Demanding investigation into such killing, Geelani said that he smelled foul “as these killing are the repercussion of the statement of Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parikar in which he allegedly had signalled to boost counter insurgency in the state”.
“In past also we have witnessed government gunmen killed thousands of innocents across state,” he added. (KNS)
