Geelani barred from offering Friday congregational prayers 20th time

Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani continued to remain under house arrest and was barred from offering Friday congregational prayers today on 20th time this year.
Spokesman of the Hurriyat (G) Ayaz Akbar in a statement has termed the government action as clear violation of the state constitution and international laws. He also condemned it in strong words and said that the house arrest process of the 86 years old pro-freedom leader remained unchanged in the 2015 year too and his detention has completed 140 days in this year.
As usual extra police force was today deployed around the residence of Syed Ali Geelani and the CID personals in civics were seen everywhere in the Hyderpora area. Hurriyat (G) spokesman reminded that the house detention process of Syed Ali Geelani during the Omer Abdullah government remained for 4 long years and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed not only continued with this tradition but the restrictions were further tightened in his period.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that the recent ruling of the Jammu & Kashmir high court which states that the preventive detention is an undemocratic act and against the law, generated some hope that the Syed Ali Geelani will be released and the police force at his residence will be lifted. But nothing like that happened so far and Syed Ali Geelani without any legal and moral justification continues to remain under the house imprisonment and his political, social and even his religious activities have been restricted.
Hurriyat (G) appealed the human rights organizations to take notice of the imprisonment of the pro-freedom leader and use their influence for his release.
Meanwhile, Geelani condemns the arrests of Muslim League members.
