Overwhelming response to our initiative: Principal

Baramulla, Jan 6 (KNS): Govt Degree College for Women, Baramulla, has launched skill development courses and personality development programmes for all the students, including those schools adopted by the college.
Prof Parveen Pandit, Principal of the college told KNS the college has adopted Government High School, Bunglowbagh and Girls Higher Secondary Baramulla after the minister for education Naeem Akhtar asked for the initiative of adoption of the schools.
“Students are trained in boutique technology, communicative skills in English, personality development and computers literacy programmes,” Prof Pandit told KNS.
“These programs will help the students to become confident and acquire skills.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIn the boutique centre, female students are trained in cutting, tailoring, Kashmiri craft work like Aari, Sozni and tilla,” she said.
“A lot of female students from the college, the two adopted schools are being trained at present in the colleges in these skills and personality development programmes. Interestingly, 40 mothers of students have applied for the skill development training,” she said.
The principal said the parents of these students have expressed their willingness to get their children trained in boutique technology. (KNS)
