GDC Tangdhar organises annual road race at Karnah

Karnah, Sept 28 (KNS): In order to develop the concept of Fit India Run 2.0 and spirit of sportsmanship, Physical Education Department of GDC Tangdhar under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised Annual Road Race for boys on Tuesday. 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the race commenced at 9:00 am from Munsif Court Tangdhar at Khawarpara to Kaltha Bus Stop via Chanipora Bala. 

“The race was flagged off by Principal Dr G. M. Lone in the presence of college faculty members. Total 48 students participated in the race with great enthusiasm and vigor. Amir Ilyas of B.Sc first semester secured first position whereas Raja Amjid Khan of B.Sc 2nd semester and Khushal Ahmad of B.A. 2nd semester secured second and third position respectively,” he said.

He said that the position holders were felicitated by principal by presenting trophies, mementoes and merit certificates. 

Dr Munir Ahmad PTI and organiser of the event greeted the students at valedictory ceremony and also thanked them for successfully participating in the event. 

He also appreciated and lauded the cooperation rendered by all the colleagues and supporting staff of the college during the event. 

He appreciated the role of the concerned Police Station Tangdhar and Block Medical Officer SDH Tangdhar for their support for the smooth conduct of the event. (KNS)
