Pulwama, May 6(KNS): Government Degree College (GDC) Pulwama organised an extension lecture on neurodegenerative diseases, with speakers highlighting recent advances in treatment strategies for such disorders.
The lecture, organised by the Department of Biotechnology in the college auditorium, focused on the theme “Development of therapeutic modalities for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases”.
Principal of the college, Dr Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, in his address said such lectures are important for supplementing classroom teaching and exposing students to current research developments.
Dr Niyaz Naik introduced the speaker and outlined the objective of organising extension lectures.

He spoke about advancements in therapeutic approaches targeting disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, officials said.
Faculty members and students from the college, as well as participants from nearby paramedical institutes, attended the lecture and interacted with the speaker.
Organisers said the session provided a platform for exchange of ideas and discussions on potential research collaborations.
They said such initiatives are aimed at promoting academic engagement and strengthening research culture among students.(KNS)
